End-user guide: Secure onboarding with Nametag

Note: Admins responsible for Nametag deployment at their organization can share the following guide with their end-users (in this case, new employees) to help explain why and how to use VerifiedHire to provision their work accounts. Edit or customize this text to suit your purposes and match your workflows.

Nametag VerifiedHire is a faster, more secure way to set up your work accounts. It saves time and protects our organization against imposters by enabling you to quickly set your passwords and enroll in multi-factor authentication (MFA) with our identity providers, without having to involve our IT helpdesk.

Verifying yourself with Nametag requires only what you already have in your pocket: your smartphone, and your government-issued photo ID.

1. Scan QR code.

Navigate to our custom Nametag onboarding webpage. You can find this link in an email sent to the email address you gave us. Enter your new work email address (also found in that email), then scan the QR code with your smartphone to launch Nametag. You don't have to download an app: Nametag uses native features of iOS and Android to deliver an app-like without making you visit the app store.

2. Verify your identity.

Follow the prompts to scan the front and back of your government-issued ID, and take a selfie. Nametag’s Deepfake Defense™ identity verification engine verifies the authenticity of your ID document and your selfie, and then makes sure they match.‍

3. Finish onboarding.

Return to our onboarding webpage, which will automatically refresh. Now you can set your passwords with our company’s identity providers, after which you will be automatically directed to enroll in multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Manage and delete your data

Nametag believes that privacy is a fundamental human right. You can view, manage, and delete your own data at any time through their full app. To learn more about Nametag's data privacy and security practices, read their FAQ.
