Solutions Engineer

Nametag is seeking a Solutions Engineer to bridge the gap between technical expertise and customer engagement. This is a hybrid role encompassing both pre-sales and post-sales responsibilities, focused on guiding enterprise customers through proof-of-concept (POC) implementations, onboarding, and successful deployments. The ideal candidate will bring deep IAM (Identity and Access Management) integration expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, engaging discussions.

This requires the ability to earn customer trust based on deep technical experience. The Solutions Engineer will collaborate closely with Account Executives and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless adoption and long-term success for Nametag’s enterprise customers.

Role Overview

As a Solutions Engineer, you will be the technical point of contact for prospective and existing customers, ensuring they successfully integrate Nametag’s identity verification and account protection solutions. You will lead proof-of-concept (POC) projects, assist in onboarding, and provide hands-on implementation support, while also educating customers on best practices and integration strategies. Your ability to articulate complex technical solutions in a simple and engaging manner will be critical in building strong relationships and driving customer success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Pre-Sales Engineering & POCs:
    • Work alongside Account Executives to understand customer needs and define technical solutions.
    • Manage proof-of-concept (POC) projects, ensuring successful validation of Nametag’s capabilities.
    • Present and demo solutions, distilling complex security and IAM concepts into customer-friendly explanations.
  2. Post-Sales Implementation & Onboarding:
    • Lead technical onboarding and deployment efforts for new enterprise customers.
    • Guide customers through integration with IAM platforms (Okta, Duo, Microsoft Entra, etc.) and other enterprise security tools.
    • Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure seamless post-sales support and retention.
  3. Technical Expertise & IAM Integration:
    • Act as a trusted technical advisor, leveraging deep IAM integration expertise to provide guidance on best practices.
    • Troubleshoot implementation challenges and assist customers in resolving technical roadblocks.
    • Serve as the go-to resource for complex security, authentication, and identity verification topics.
  4. Customer Engagement & Enablement:
    • Build strong relationships with technical stakeholders, earning their respect through knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
    • Provide training and technical workshops for customers and internal teams.
    • Partner with Product and Engineering to relay customer feedback and influence roadmap priorities.

Ideal Qualifications

We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply, even if you don’t meet every listed qualification. You’ll thrive in this role if you bring most of the following:

  • Experience: 5+ years in a customer-facing solutions engineering, pre-sales, or post-sales implementation role.
  • IAM & Security Expertise: Hands-on experience with identity and access management (IAM) platforms, authentication protocols, and security best practices.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, authentication standards (OAuth, SAML, FIDO), and enterprise security architectures.
    • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools for system integration.
    • Experience integrating with platforms such as Okta, Duo, Microsoft Entra, and enterprise directories.
  • Communication & Problem-Solving:
    • Ability to distill complex technical concepts and present them clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong customer-facing skills—articulate, engaging, and credible as a trusted advisor.
    • Proactive problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working with Account Executives, Customer Success, and Product/Engineering teams to drive customer success.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary: $120,000 - $160,000
  • Potential equity in a high-growth company
  • Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision)
  • Flexible time off policies
  • 401(k) program with employer matching
  • Remote-first culture with opportunities for in-person collaboration during quarterly team off-sites
