While the identity verification (IDV) market is crowded with KYC compliance and consumer fraud tools, Nametag is dedicated to protecting enterprise accounts against deepfakes, social engineering and account takeovers. That’s why we’re proud to be included in both the inaugural Gartner Magic Quadrant for Identity Verification and in Gartner’s Emerging Tech: Techscape in Security Software report. Nametag stands out as the only IDV player focused on workforce account protection, backed by cryptographic Deepfake Defense technology and a wide range of integrations with IAM and ITSM providers. Check out our press release and read on to learn more about what this means to us.
“We’re thrilled to be mentioned in these Gartner reports, one focused on emerging security companies and the other focused on established identity verification players. Industry experts are increasingly recognizing Nametag’s innovation and momentum in delivering workforce account protection solutions powered by our Deepfake Defense™ engine.” — Aaron Painter, CEO at Nametag
2024 Gartner Emerging Tech: Techscape for Startups in Security Software
Nametag was included in the Identity Security category of Gartner’s 2024 Emerging Tech: Techscape for Startups in Security Software. In the report, Gartner states that, “There are six startups with solutions that work to improve IDV biometrics security, adoption and ease of use.” While other companies in the category focus on consumer identity and access management (CIAM), consumer fraud analytics, and digital ID aggregation, Nametag is the only company solving issues related to workforce account protection and deepfake defense.
2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Identity Verification
The 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Identity Verification has as its goal “to help IAM leaders select the best choice to meet their core requirements and offer lasting value.” Nametag’s profile highlights our differentiated technology, resiliency against injection attacks, focus on account protection use cases, and range of integrations with access management and IT service management tools.
Black Box IDV Tools Lack Workforce Integrations
As stated by Gartner in one of its key findings in the 2024 Gartner Critical Capabilities for Identity Verification, “IDV tools tend to be a ‘black box,’ lacking clear visibility into how and why “accept” or “reject” decisions are made.” Gartner also found that, “Basic integrations required for workforce applications are natively supported by only a small number of products.”
Nametag has already solved both of these issues. Our deep range of integrations, include major workforce Identity & Access Management platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra, Cisco Duo and OneLogin, as well as IT service management (ITSM) platforms like ServiceNow and Zendesk.
Meanwhile, we provide full visibility into the reasoning behind every identity decision made by our Deepfake Defense™ identity verification engine. Our radically transparent Proof of Verification page in the Nametag console shows exactly what’s going on, in a way that’s customizable to each organization’s privacy requirements and standards.
What This Recognition Means to Nametag
To us, Nametag's inclusion in two Gartner reports in such a short span of time represents more than an accolade; it’s an acknowledgment of our differentiated approach to identity verification — one that prioritizes high security and robust deepfake defense in a market dominated by low-assurance consumer compliance. Our solutions aren't just about checking boxes; they raise the bar and set the standard for workforce account protection in the era of genAI and deepfakes.
